Pink Slip - Part 3 - Christmas

Pink Slip - Part 3 - Christmas was a very challenging episode to do. First of all, in the midst of pre-production, the woman in the apartment above me had a flood (actually she forgot to turn off the bath tub and flooded my closets and apartment). A wonderful friend, showed up, uninvited, to sleep on my couch. I was happy to see her, but the timing was all wrong. As she slept on the sofa, I wrote this episode half in the dark, because she was unable to sleep with the light on. You would think this might cause me to have difficulty writing. Instead, I wrote part 3 & 4 at once. I didn't plan to shoot part 4 at that time, but sent it to my cast, thinking they'd have more time to learn their lines. However, my line producer had other ideas and made me realize that we'd save money if we shot them both. However, I had only done the story boards for part 3...he said not to worry...Bernie Gewissler always had my back....and so we shot 3 & 4, the next day. We also lost the apartment we were supposed to shoot in at the last moment & that is why Suzie & Max hook up in the elevator. I love Michael Adam Hamilton's portrayal of Max/Aunt Florrie...to go from Macho man to old lady and be believable is not easy...and Jason Ellefson as Joey/ LulaBelle/Gertrude just cracks me up no matter how many times I see him. I hope it makes you laugh too. Have fun.
